First look at Zamzar

I am still having some difficulty keeping track of and organizing passwords and usernames. I suppose it will come with time. I am concerned that this would certainly be an issue with students as well.

Tried using the Zamzar file conversion site today and found that it worked quite well in my initial and very limited experience. Will have to do some more testing to see if it is as good as it seems at first. I am not sure I see any learning application in the classroom at this point but it certainly could be useful for teachers and students as a utility.

ZamZar is a good online conversion program although I've found problems with the .mov conversions but that could be the viewer I have. I found it to be quick and easy to use and I could have multiple videos reformatted at the same time.
I think that it would be useful in class, especially if you are using a video from the web and wanted access and the supplier was blocked - like Youtube. Download, convert, email and play at school. Slick and quick.

As far as keeping passwords and such I have been trying to stay organized as much as possible because I too have the same issues. Therefore, I keep a binder divided into classes/grades and have copied their names and user names and passwords for each specific site they sign up for.
I keep it in my computer room - hidden from students but I know where it is at all times, I can use it when needed and if a sub was in for me they would have use too.
